Running a group can be a little time-consuming and I have to admit I don't have the ability to devote as much attention to it as I did in the past.

It would be really helpful to have 2-3 moderators help me look through submissions and keep an eye on the goings on within the group and possibly help with any sort of events or whatever may happen. Obviously, this would be overseen and any mod would not get free reign over any process in the group, but a little help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd prefer anyone who wants to pitch in to have been a member for at least a few months and even better if you've actively contributed artwork to the group.

Send me a note if you're interested in lending a hand with administrating things.

Behold the Physiologus

If you're looking for help with submitting to the group, try this post: physiologus.deviantart.com/blo…

The Physiologus was originally a compiled work by an unknown Alexandrian author in the 2nd century AD. Its function, similar to that of medieval bestiaries, was a both literary and artistic exploration into the physiology of various forms of existing and fantastic fauna. You can read more about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physiolo…

Keeping in the spirit of the original, this physiologus is intended to house artistic works showcasing fantastic creatures, both original from the imagination of their creators alone and those inspired by myth, folklore and the works of others.

The rules for contributions are fairly simple and straightforward:

:pointr: Obviously, contributions should be submitted with the consent of the original creator or by the creator themself.

:pointr: Any breed of creature is fine, from the elegant and beautiful, to grotesque and horrible and all shades in between. There's plenty of room here.

:pointr: While creatures inspired by existing works are fine, but ideally the inspiring media you're representing should be at least 30 years old. I'd rather not have the group flooded with fan work related to Pokemon and World of Warcraft or other very recent franchises.

:pointr: Anthropomorphizing may have been prevalent in myth and folklore across the centuries, but this group is not for furry/anthro artwork. I'm sorry. However, there are several groups on DA for just that sort of theme, so there are other options.

As far as joining goes, this group is currently open to members. They can submit art to the gallery, but it must be approved before it will show up there. They are free to suggest favorites without restriction.

Contributors are those who have proven to be invaluable members, sharing interesting pieces that adhere to the guidelines of the group and keeping an eye out for those which do not. Members can apply to become contributors, but they must be voted on.

That said, if you're a contributor, get to adding some pictures!! If you're a member or a watcher, get to suggesting some faves!!

If anthromorphic creatures are not allowed in this group, why is it that I've spotted several antrhomorphic-looking pieces in several folders? O.o

"Anthropomorphic-looking" is not the same thing as being explicitly labeled as "anthro/furry". And, as I said, in the end it comes down to my personal choice whether I consider something furry enough to be declined or not based on my own preferences.

Look, I am not talking about you in general. I never ever said I disagreed with your rule, right? No, I did not. I said I don't get why there is so many people who label things as furry just because of hundreds and thousands of groups and all that. I don't think it's a big deal. I am not talking about your group in particular either... :)

If it has nothing to do with me, my rule or my group, why are you even bringing it up here? Isn't that something more appropriate for a forum or your own personal journal?

I've said what I needed to say and fully addressed your question. If you have any other problem with how I or anyone in general regard furries and their ilk, you should probably move the conversation somewhere more suitable for it. It doesn't belong here.
